A new entry has been added to Downloads
Description: Hi all,
about three years ago, i grumbled about the IEO Rebalancing Project. I disliked things such as removal of secondary weapons and "aa-rush" - aa was much to hard imo.
Some german-speaking ppl might still know me from some threads i created (e.g.: "Geht Relancing in die falsche Richtung?").
Well, then i started my own rebalancing project.
Now, after lots of stopps, i created a mod which is completely different from the most commonly used rebalancings.
Description and features of my mod:
Options:- Unit limit (limit is adjustable)
- 2 "money-modes" :
- Mining
- "Uncle Sam" (money per minute is adjustable)
(i recommend to use "Uncle Sam" because it is be more balanced imo)
Features:- NEW RACE: Smugglers (Aliens got replaced with this new race for balance reasons) (details below)
- tech tree reworked completely (tech level system as in warcraft 3)
- every unit can be useful at any time of the game (e.g: u don't need highest tech level to counter a higest-tech-level-army)
-> noticeable differences in unit speed, unit hp, etc.
- removed system : "only against air" , "only against ground"
-> there are many more weapons which can attack air (primarily light weapons), but will need more than one shot to kill an air unit
- behaviour of many weapons changed (e.g.: artillery can shoot when moving, LC-crion is a land unit here)
- added lots of new weapons, i tried especially to include some weapons of Earth 2150 and created new particles for those, such as the old ION-Cannon and the ED-Laser, which kills a unit by increasing the target's temperature to make their fuel and ammunition explode;
LC-Crion got another weapon: plasma artillery from Earth 2150
- lots of new particles/graphics added
- highlighting of the factions' features (e.g.: LC: self-regeneration; ED: raw power of cannons and lasers; etc.)
- changed infantry: strong weapons, very low hp, very low costs
-> LC got another infantry unit as in IEO Rebalancing Project
Smugglers:- Race system similar to the system of the other three races (UCS, ED, LC)
-> own tech tree and construction center
-> LC-harvest-system (mines for money)
-> smugglers got all the unit types which the other races (UCS, ED, LC) got (e.g.: infantry, jeeps, tanks, fighters, artillery, etc.)
- models are from the campaign and from the virtual agents
My goals:- "just right-click" or setting rallying point into hostile base should not work
- focus is put on unit fights instead of killing economy only (works well in "Uncle Sam")
- armies which consist of only one unit type should lose against armies with mixed unit types
-> research time and research costs for new weapons are lower than for upgrads for existing weapons
- create an atmosphere as in Earth 2150
(new ED-Lasers, LC-Crion-Plasma artillery, ...)
- early game units should be useful all the time to have more possibilities in late game
Try it! I'm sure u won't have regrets about it
