Yeah, i can't say how much i hate 2160, yet it's one of the few (only?) rts games that doesn't give me the feeling like i'm a total idiot while playing and makes at least little sense. Well, maybe it makes none... but i love it for its potential...
I prolly would have given it up long ago except for the fact I use Superstorm. This is just about the best and only mod I use in the game. Many, many THX to Spacetug! Oh and I forgot about the massive overhaul put together and tested by the members here... the rebalance. Still , all you fellas/gals... my thanks for making this game old but still very playable.
Also my thanks for keeping this thread open for such a long time. I had thought it would be gone a long time ago. I hope all you modders and moderators are still around when 2170 comes out.

Yea, it's still playable for me because it always changed. We always got a few new things to test, with reba and other mods (the Z!-mod was my favourite so far). I would be gone long time ago too, if there wasnt any change. Lately, players stopped to use the latest reba versions and keep playing 9.0v4 of wich i really got tired. But just in that moment i discovered the SDK myself. Other players started to work on their own gameplay versions, wich need to be tested. We have Tunngle as a new platform to play earth. And the NEP looks promising, I'm really looking forward to a playable version of that.
So I guess I won't get bored here until I find a new rts I really like.

to this moment i hadnt found game much playble onlene than earth. its true that now not so many players play it but which is sens if be online 50 players if only 10 players have good abilities. I preffer our small community where each plaer can play good or very good.

Well..... that leaves me out! The only ones that know I suck at the game are the AI's.... lol
Edit:
Zitat:
Zitat von Garagin
i just have to say: ED FOREVER
No, LC for me... try dropping a main module right on top of your enemy and manage to drop a battle module on top. When you do, It drives the AI crazy.. Try that with any other faction... lol
Funny thing though, when I pal up with an ED.. the AI only builds so far and stops until attacked
Heck, I have to use one of my rippers and rip him up a bit just to get the AI to continue building.... once I do, I can then get the AI to build up to the missile launcher. THEN.... I watch him do his stuff..
To pal up with UCS I like also, they are pretty awesome.
Another funny thing that happens that I hate is when ED, UCS, and Alien attack, they do a good job but then they keep running back to base and then start again. Still... I love the smell of napalm in the morning...
E2160 forever!

Grund: Serenity has merged this doublepost
"We welcome change and openness; for we believe that freedom and security go together, that the advance of human liberty can only strengthen the cause of world peace. There is one sign the Soviets can make that would be unmistakable, that would advance dramatically the cause of freedom and peace. General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and eastern Europe, if you seek liberalization, come here to this gate. Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate. Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"
Ronald Reagan.....
And he wasn't even considered for the Nobel Peace prize... how about that ?
BTW... the domino's falling must have been a sight!
This was on all our news networks all day...
No offense to my Russian friends........

Supreme Commander 2 has already been released ? O.o I´m not up-to-date
Hello Wooosh! Yep, it's been out for about a month already.
It's not going to be a buy for me though, too many things about the game that are not to my liking. For one, no editor and two, may not be highly modifiable like SC and FA was. Although it may be in the future. Supreme Commander 2 is very much like Demigod.... no editor or mods.
NOW, as far as I'm concerned, Earth 2160 is still my main game along with Company of Heros and Fallout 3... these are awesome IMO!
Maybe when the game is on the old games rack, I'll but the game... I'll have to see.
Take care!

But Earth 2160 should work on my laptop. maybe we could play one or two rounds online.
Hi Wooosh!
Well, SC 2 should be able to be played on your laptop. Chris Taylor designed the game to be played well on older machines. Square Enix says and CT says so anyway.
I've only played SC/FA online maybe three times and all of those, I lost terribly. Longest game maybe lasted 10 minutes at most. That sort of blew me out of the water, so, I only play shirmish now and although I'd love to play you online, I quit doing that so sorry my man..
I like games to last several hours at least...... and I never lose playing E2160.

good to hear that its not so hardware-hungry. I played E2160 one time online and i lost after 5 minutes! That was terrible.
i plazed some times SC online and i won, but onlz with a friend and against CPUs. Against other players I`m totally lost

Lol, then you know how I feel/felt when I lose.........
I played lan once with Spacetug, who created another way of playing E2160. (called Seige) And of course he creamed me.
If you want another real neat way of playing E2160, find some where on this site.. maybe under 'mods' and download his program. There are also ample maps here in downloads, some I made myself specifically for playing 'Seige'.
It is playing with only troops. Where you try to capture points on the map and hold them for a certain time in order to win the game. Playing against the AI will give you a very nice game , I must say. It is only one of the things that keeps me playing this game... I love it! Try it, I think you will like it too..
If you need help with this, you can contact any of the mods here and I'm sure they would only be glad to help.
Take care!
